Learn how to fucking drive. The speed limit on 1604 is 70, why are you doing 61 in the left lane? The car next to you in the right lane is doing the exact same speed, you should never be the left lane. Or hey maybe accelerate up to the speed limit, it’s a Saturday night on a holiday weekend it’s not that busy. Don’t get pissed when I eventually go to undertake you because it finally turned into a 3 lane road when you need to get off. Don’t start moving over when I’m passing you on the right, I can see the blind spot light on in your fucking mirror, that means no only did you start to move over without your blinker on, you also didn’t check your mirrors, next time it’ll be the finger and horn instead of just the horn.

Also on ramps are for getting up to speed, don’t do fucking 45 then try to merge, that’s pretty dangerous. You see that pedal on the right, not the other one cause let’s be honest, you have an auto, you push on that and you go faster, it’s like magic.

I hate driving through that shit, it was the worst after working nights, I’ve been up for 16 hours, it’s 0600 and now I have to drive 45 minutes through this shit to get back to my room at the man camp, great.

Ha, I’ve been here for 2.5 years now. It wasn’t that bad when I lived in Alice or Corpus, but damn here in San Antonio, everyone drives slow as hell. Even on the 130 toll, people weren’t going that fast, I was passing people like they were standing still, then again my car is engineered for the autobahn, your F250 isn’t.

I will never understand why people here think it is OK to merge at 45 mph. Happens all over town. I’ve noticed 1604 full of slow drivers on the weekends for the last few years. I think they get so used to never being able to go the speed limit with all the traffic on weekdays that they don't know what to do when 1604 actually has room.

This is my fourth year in Houston, and people are either driving really slowly in the left lane, or flying down the highway in Camrys and Crown Vics (with obligatory bling rims). Better than the Middle East though, where I used to live.

There was a guy in a range getting on 1604 and there was no way he was doing over 50, cause I had to slow down for the car that moved over to let him in and I looked down and I was doing like 55. You’re not that important, get off the phone and drive. Yes I drive a fast car, but if I could get up into the triple digits on an on ramp, I’m pretty sure you can do 65-70 to merge. I had the same theory about 1604, since it’s hard to do above 50 on weekdays, so everyone has no idea what to do when traffic is light enough to do 70.

I thought it was a shame that I hadn’t wired up my fog lights yet. But then realized I’d be going way too fast to use them. I saw somebody zoom past me, then almost careen off the road because they didn’t know a turn was ahead. But no problem, just keep doing 55 in a 45 zone at night in the fog.

Last time this happened there were a bunch of wrecks in the morning, but it’s the weekend so I slept in and missed out on the excitement.

You know a big issue? There are a lot of cities where a cop will write a speeding ticket for exceeding the speed limit on an on-ramp, which is usually 40-45 merging in to a 55-65mph highway.

Yup I got laid off, I was in frac and that got pretty bad. I hated that job, it was really wearing on me, I was planning on quitting in September but hey this also works. I’m not really bitter about it, even if all my coworkers were shocked that I got chosen, luckily since I was preparing to leave that job, I’ve got money saved up, and got my car I’m keeping paid off. It was pretty awesome back in 2014, I’ll admit that, I had fat paychecks and friends and then slowly lost it all.

Crazy. I’ve never heard of that. From what I’ve read the on-ramp is considered a separate road from the highway and frontage road and therefore needs its own black and white speed limit sign or it defaults to the unsigned speed which is 55 or 65 in most states. Ticketing excessive speed on off-ramps makes sense, but how can an on-ramp be 45 when you’re expected to merge into traffic going 65 at the end of it? And even if that is the actual law in some places it seems to be incredibly unsafe to actually pull people over for it, The whole point of moving violations should be to encourage safety not fill city treasury accounts, but we all know how it works in the real world. *sigh*
